Hunting The Egret by Bryn Colvin

Did you design the cover?

I very much wanted an egret on the cover, but the layout was entirely Tom Brown’s work.

Did you get to give any input about the cover design?

I didn’t need to once it was under way - other than reminding Tom which name I was using for this one! I got to see the cover as it developed from pencil sketch to finished piece – a fascinating process and one requiring no input from me.

Is there an interesting story behind the cover design? If so, please share the details.

I first met artist Tom Brown when he was working at Whiskey Creek Press. He isn’t an in house artist at LYD, but the publisher is brilliantly flexible about letting us sort out our own stuff if we want to. Tom and I have worked together on some graphic novel projects. I’m a huge fan of his work.

Who is the cover artist?

Are you happy with the cover?

I love it so much I’m buying the original to hang over my fireplace.

Tell us what you think is the best part of the cover.

I love the fact that it’s a totally original and unique piece of artwork.

Is there anything else about your cover that we need to know? Feel free to share.

I think it speaks for itself.

The No Complaining Rule by Jon Gordon

1) Did you design the cover? No

2) Did the publisher design the cover?

Yes, my publisher designed it.

3) Did you give input?

We were given four different choices to decide upon, but we liked the energy meter on the front.

4) Is there an interesting story behind the cover design?

The whole book, in fact all of Jon's books, deal with gaging your energy levels in different situations. Jon is all about positive thinking and how it can affect any outcome you deal with. The energy meter on the front represents a gage the main character has to metaphorically use in the story as well as each reader.

5) Who is the cover artist? Wiley

6) Are you happy with the cover? Without a doubt!

7) If not, what would you change?

8) What is the best part of the cover?

We like the distinctive font of the book title and how it is the same color as the Positive sign in the energy meter

9) Is there anything else we need to know? Your positive energy must be greater than anyone's negativity

Chesapeake Harvest by Terry L. White

Did you design the cover? No

Is there an interesting story behind the cover design? The cover of my book is the painting of a woman starting out to sea. The night sky is behind her and she holds a red rose. The style is very “pulp fiction” a retro look I find very appealing.

Who is the cover artist? The cover artist is a young woman from
Maryland named Dawn Tarr. Dawn is selling her art in galleries along the Eastern Seaboard and to fans around the world via ebay. I think her style is funky and intriguing, and I love the cover she did for Chesapeake Harvest. It is evocative of the lonely life Mary Charles lives as an indentured servant in a newborn colony. My editor Arline Chase of ebooksonthe.net did the lettering.

Are you happy with the cover? I was over the moon when I saw Dawn’s painting. It captured the essence of the woman inside each of us who longs to be loved.

Tell us what you think is the best part of the cover. I like the innocence of Dawn’s painting. I believe she will make her mark on the world and the cover will attract attention to the book.
