Cobblestone Quest

Did you design the cover?
No we used Michael Lynch (www.bookcoverdesign.com) to design the cover. He has designed at least 10 covers for us.

Did your publisher design the cover?
I am the author and publisher - so, in a way, yes.

Did you get to give any input about the cover design?
Yes, we had full say on the creative design. Michael provides 2 or 3
draft covers; we select the best option and tweak it to create a final
cover.

Is there an interesting story behind the cover design? If so, please
share the details.
At first I wasn't in favor of the cobblestone borders so I asked Michael
to remove them. But, the cover lost "pop" without the borders so we had
them put back in.

Who is the cover artist?
All the photos used in the cover (including the close-ups of the
cobblestone rows used in the border) were taken by my husband Rich
Freeman. His previous career was as a development photographer for
Eastman Kodak Company.

Are you happy with the cover? If not, what would you change and why?
Yes, mostly I am. In black and white it does come across as a bit dark.

Tell us what you think is the best part of the cover.
I like that the title is bold and readable. I like that it shows the
diversity of cobblestone structures as well as the close-up of the
cobblestones themselves.

Is there anything else about your cover that we need to know? Feel free
to share.
I highly recommend Michael Lynch as a cover designer. He's easy to work
with and creates great covers.
